There is nothing more beautiful than a clean and well-groomed manicure on a woman since our hands are one of the first things one notices.
From the moment the customer leaves the nail salon and have completed their service, they constantly look at how beautiful and clean their nails are.
This usually lasts for one to two weeks and below we will explain why. The truth is that I like to analyze and explain everything professionally and properly. This is not because the manicure was not done properly but because our eponychium (the cuticles, as they are known) is the defense of our nail to protect the nail matrix and to have a healthy nail. They also help prevent infections. We have to have “cuticles”, the “cuticles” must come out, yes, you read that right. This does not mean that we do not have to clean them to have a beautiful manicure but to treat them in the right way.
Certainly, the treatment cannot be done the way a professional technician would do it, however we can perform a good maintenance at home.
Let’s see what we need:
• cuticle oil (the best, contains various oils and vitamins)
• warm water
• stick (we can also get it from our nail salon)
• a nail file
* Caution: I would not recommend metal tools because we are not professionals, and we must avoid damaging the nail matrix.
An ideal time is after bath since the warm water and water vapor will help to soften the skin in the surrounding area of the nails and the dead cells.
1. Push the eponychium backwards with the special stick very carefully but without pushing the nail down.
2. Put the oil on our nails and the surrounding area and lightly massage them.
3. Wet the file lightly and rub the skin (if there are hardenings in the surrounding nail area) until the skin softens.
4. Apply moisturizer
This can be done once a week.
